Our team of qualified professionals provides the highest quality of service to ensure the library is running efficiently and effectively. We are continuously working to improve the library experience for our patrons and to make sure our library resources are accessible to all. We also collaborate closely with our Friends of the Library group to provide additional support and resources. Our Administration is committed to making sure our library is the best it can be.

Letter from your New Library Director
Hello everyone,
I hope to welcome you to our library personally! I'm thrilled to embark on this journey and continue to enhance everything Lawrence Public Library has to offer. Have confidence beyond measure that our public library is a beacon of light to the community it serves.
Libraries help shape lives and reach our best potential. Believe that every day through the services we provide, the relationships we build, and the lives we touch, we are giving solace and advancement to different historically marginalized communities.
The public library is the ultimate place for possibilities. Our mission statement reflects the importance of upholding our public service responsibilities. We are inclusive and open to everyone, which is uncommon with other venues. The Lawrence Public Library is free to use, offers an excellent level of staff assistance, provides resources on almost any topic, and offers programs for all ages. I was born and raised in the City of Lawrence. The most important reason I took a career in the public sector from the Department of Homeland Security to the City of Lawrence was to continue to make a positive difference to the lives of others. I have assisted in the naturalization of thousands of citizens and welcomed them to our wonderful country and all it offers. But now it is time to step back and serve a bigger purpose in my eyes, and that is the opportunity for me to directly impact the people in the community I hold dear to my heart. I invite you to reach out to me directly and share your ideas, so our library stays relevant and up to date. We are partners in making the library as responsive as possible to the needs of our community.
